Die Schöpfung am 27. & 28. Januar 2018 in Basel und Zürich
Ich freue mich unglaublich auf Haydns Schöpfung am 27. und 28. Januar in Basel und…
Michel Anner was born and raised in Basel. After completing his Masters degree in Law at the university of Basel he worked as a legal assistant at the universities of Zurich and Lucerne where he wrote his Ph.D. At the same time, he studied opera singing with Marcel Boone at the Conservatory in Basel. He finished his studies with a Master of Performance in opera singing in 2013. He attended several Master classes of Thomas Hampson, Vesselina Kasarova, François LeRoux and Margret Honig et al. At the moment, he works on a regular basis with Elisabeth Glauser and Noëmi Nadelmann.
On stage, he has performed roles such as the Barber of Seville (Rossini), Count Almaviva (Nozze di Figaro, Mozart) or Eisenstein (The Bat, Strauss). He often performs in oratorios of Händel, Bach and Mendelssohn. He is also passionate about French and German art songs of the late 19th and early 20th century and occasionally performs traditional Yiddish songs.
In the last couple of years he also started producing his on shows. He initiated a series of chamber opera productions with the name Opéra Riche which premiered for the first time in 2017. And in January 2018 he produced Haydn’s oratorio Die Schöpfung as a sing-along. The performance had a specific graphic and light design and subtitled.
Opéra Riche is my personal production company that sets up pocket operas for individual occasions. Its goal is to deliver small and refined opera productions or opera shows that meet the requirements of the venue, the ambience or the occasion without loss of quality.
A production of Opéra Riche is mostly suitable for unconventional venues.
We will perform whatever you would like us to perform. Maybe you have already a specific piece in mind. If not we are happy to suggest pieces that fit your personal taste and the specific occasion.
We perform wherever you want us to perform. In a concert hall, a private house, a public garden, in a train.
Opéra Riche productions are privately financed but this does not mean they will only be shown to a private audience. In the end, it will be decided by the person or the company who commissions the production.
Basically, only professional singers and musicians will be performing in Opéra Riche productions. There is an exception to this rule though: If the production is specifically commissioned to include amateurs.
The first Opéra Riche production is to premier on June 29th 2017 in Zürich, Switzerland, at the Toni-Areal (ZHdK). We will perform “Il segreto di Susanna” by Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari. An opera for two singers (soprano/baritone) and an actor. They will be accompanied by a chamber orchestra.
